For use by SnowREASoN only
Purpose
This is a description of the MODSCAG product and is intended as a way
to keep track of any changes that affect the final MODSCAG product.
File Format
- Reflectance Images on which MODSCAG operates
- generated from LPDAAC-retrieved MOD09/MYD09 tiles
- format: band interleaved by pixel
- naming: .bip
- Preliminary output files from MODSCAG
- .pic files
- floating point
- Final output files from MODSCAG
- .tif files
- geolocation info for ROI
MODSCAG Processing Steps
- modscag
- modsort
- modscag cleanse
- filter values below 15% threshold (for snow cover product only)
- No data values (-2867) in BIP reflectance image are set to NaN in all MODSCAG output images.
Post Processing steps
- water body masking
- apply standard 1 km MODIS water body mask (at 500 m sampling) - this is done by the snow and other teams for standard distribution.
