General yearly operating needs, useful for budget proposals etc...:
- $200-400/year APC Batteries:
- Replace 3-4 APC SM2200RM3U battery units every 2 years, $180 each.
- $600/generic server>GenericServer ($544.75 on 2005-02-08)
- Slightly less than $2000/TB data storage w/ backups. Amount needed fluctuates.
- A fully loaded disk-brick set providing 8 TB currently (20051010) runs $23,000.
Future needs
- $5000-26,500: New Snow Terraserver DB & backup...
- Snow lab printer/fax/scanner.
- Microscope digital camera and lens attachments.
